Conclusion and Key learnings
I had a lot of expectations about this course, and after finishing the first module I can say that I am on the path I wanted to be; this course has taught me to think in a different way, that there is not just one way to teach, that your creativity is the limit, that AI can make the things easier for you, that AI can help you to improve your classes, and that you can make almost everything by working together with the new technologies. It is not a matter of replacing teachers but it is a matter of helping them, giving them all the necessary tools that they need in order to benefit students because the principal purpose of searching for innovative tools or using AI in classes is for giving our students a quality education.
Certainly, all the knowledge I got from this first module will influence my teaching methods. When I was studying the first subject of “Didactic”, in which you learn how to teach your future students, I didn’t even know that AI exists, and less that I could have help from it in creating those lesson plans that were so difficult for me at that moment; after all I have learned from module one, these will change. With AI I have found a tool, no; a friend, a worker that will support me if I run out of ideas. I know that with all my knowledge of the subjects and its help my classes will be the best one, by implementing all the apps and all the tools that AI provides.
With the knowledge I have gained from module one and with the help of the AI, I will create activities or lessons that will be very productive for the student’s learning. For example, my idea of a lesson using AI will start with the creation of the lesson plan using prompt engineering applying the elements of control to get the perfect lesson. I will create a presentation using chatgpt, in which I will ask for the coding of the presentation I want, then I will use that code in PowerPoint, and make the presentation with my creativity, after that, I will upload the presentation to Nearpod. Having the lesson created with AI, and the presentation on Nearpod I will start my class by sharing the link to Nearpod with my students; in that way, everyone will see it and interact with my presentation, and also I will have more control of my class. Following the AI instructions on the lesson plan, I will start the class with the warm-up activity, this activity will be a game of questions in the Nearpod app. After that, I will explain the topic of the day, I will make activities using AI during the class like creating their own “Funko pop” by using vocabulary from the teaching lesson. Also, I will make activities like creating their own story with flashcards made by AI.
Certainly, AI will play an important role in my new teaching methods. Like last thinking about it, this module one has taught me how to be a better teacher; now using the Design Thinking method, I know how to sympathize better with my students, and even if there is a problem in the classroom about something that is bothering them I can apply this method and try to find a solution for the user (student). As I said at the beginning of this reflection, I feel I am on the right path. Module one was an introduction to all that AI is, and I already learned a lot about it. I learned about new apps, how to create orders for AI that will guide me to what I want, and how to solve problems in the teaching places by using a method with different steps. I just look forward to what module two has prepared for me.
Definitely module one has given us an excellent opportunity to gain more experience through practice. Being introduced to so many new concepts and feeling overwhelmed, but at the same time amazed of the power technology can provide, has been the best part. I'm sure that you're just as excited as I am to learn new things and be able to put into practice at some point in our teaching journey. Nearpod has been one of the best tools provided, not only because it becomes easier to us, but also because students now have better opportunities by having the material handy. Finally, thanks to design thinking method, we now have a better grasp om understanding different necessities and have to opportunity to empathize and create a better experience for all.

ResponderEliminarHi Miguel, I wanted to tell you that you blog is pretty cool, and the content on it is great!
ResponderEliminarThe blog is easy to understand and gives a good overview of what he's learning in the AI course. I like how Miguel explains the main concepts he's learned, like AI, generative AI, and prompt engineering. It helps me get a better idea of what AI is all about.
I find it interesting how Miguel talks about using AI in teaching English. As a student, I'm curious to see how teachers might use AI to make lessons more interesting in the near future. The example he gives of creating a lesson with AI tools sounds cool.
Miguel's enthusiasm for the course comes through in his writing. It's nice to see how he's thinking about using what he learns to become a better teacher. This makes me more interested in learning about AI too.
