Introduction

 

Life changes, one thing that I have learned during my journey in this life is that everything changes. I mean, before 1876 we didn’t even imagine how telephones would evolve; and now, we are communicating with people from the other side of the world, watching his or her expressions through the screen of an evolved telephone. Technology has changed our lives and has grown exponentially at one point humans were afraid of what it could be in the near future. But, being positive technology has helped in all the aspects of our lives reaching the automaticity. That is how the humanity discovered or created the artificial intelligence in search of automaticity. 

AI has become a very controversial topic since its creation; some see a potential in it, but some others see it as the possible next cause of humanity's extinction. But, it is not time to think about that; we are in the correct place on time to learn how to use it in the correct way. That is the reason why I felt very excited when I had the opportunity to learn a little more about the amazing world of AI. 

I will put you in context, I am studying a major called “Licenciatura en idioma inglés: opción enseñanza”, and I am about to graduate, so I decided to take the last course of the major; the course is called: “Artificial Intelligence Applied to English Learning Teaching”. In this course, we, as students, will learn how to apply AI in the area of English teaching. My initial thoughts about this course were questions like: How are we going to use AI to teach? How are we going to use it in the classroom? How AI will be beneficial for my future students? In which way I can use AI to help me in my future work as a teacher? My expectations of the course were that in there I would find the answer to all those questions. 

The course is divided into four modules, we are finishing module number one, in which we saw an introduction to AI, related concepts, different applications, prompt concepts, etc. And in this blog, I will share all I have learned from the course starting with module one, then the second, and so on. The blog contains my reflection on key concepts, my conclusions about what I have learned, and the content I created using AI.
